Day 1

Day Bujumbura international pick up and transfer to your hotel Upon your arrival at Bujumbura international airport, you will meet our professional guide who will brief you about the upcoming activities and then transfer you to your hotel. If you arrive in the morning time, you will have a chance to proceed with a short Bujumbura city tour. Overnight: Hotel Club du Lake Tanganyika

Day 2

Day Transfer to Rumonge, fishing experience After your breakfast, we will drive about 2 hours to reach Rumonge and then approach the Tanganyika Lake to witness and experience how Mukeke and Ndagara are made from its freshness up to its dryness. The Mukeke and Ndagara are the most preferred food in Burundi, you just taste it and be a part of its preparation. Overnight: Niyituronsa hotel

Day 3

Day Karera waterfalls and German faults (96km) After your breakfast, you will get in your safari car and start driving toward Rutana. It is around 2-hour car drive. You will get in Rutana around 9 and start experiencing the Karera waterfalls which are divided into 4 waterfalls. The waters from the waterfalls have healing powers that serve as medication. That is why you will find local and international visitors coming in, stepping in the water to seek for the divine healing from the water. Breathtaking sceneries that attract the attention of everyone surround the site. Later, after your lunch, you will visit the Nyakazu fault also known as German fault. The place is historical but also natural. It evokes the resistance of the King Mwambutsa’s soldiers toward German soldiers. You will learn how the German soldiers had been defeated during the war. Day 4

Day Masango Village tour and Bambuti village tour in Bukavu After your breakfast, you will go to visit Masango Village in Rumonge, a tour that will bring on board local community to entertain you. You will learn more about culture and lifestyles of Burundians through this village tour. Overnight: Clos des Limbas hotel

Day 5

Day Gorilla trekking and Bukavu City tour After your breakfast, you will corss Rwanda-DRC border and go straight to Kahuzi Biega National Park for Gorilla trekking. You will remain with them about 2 hours, taking pictures for your memories and then later you will get transferred to your hotel. After your lunch, in the afternoon you will proceed with Bukavu City tour. Overnight: Cocoda hotel

Day 6

Day Transfer to Goma, Tchukudu experience and Traditional wedding After your breakfast, you will try to ride the made-in-Goma wooden bike famously known as “TCHUKUDU”. After that experience in the village, go and Visit the traditional wedding to learn the Congolese culture before you cross the DRC-Rwanda border and go to stay at Nirvana hotel in Rwanda. Overnight: Nirvana hotel

Day 7

Day Bigorwe cow farm experience and Iby’Iwacu cultural center After your breakfast, we will drive about 1hour to visit some cow farms in Bigogwe and get to learn how cows play a great important in the Rwandan culture, symbol of wealth, prosperity and identity; you will get to know how they are used to pay marriage dowry and bride price. Milk is, as a result, also important culturally. You will get to know all the associated cultural rites with it and how Rwanda has been dealing with “Gira Inka Munyarwanda” program known as Cows to all Rwandans to facilitate Genocide survivor rebuild themselves after the darkest period. Later in the afternoon, you will have a walk in the indigenous village neighboring the Volcano National Park, which will be rich in traditional and cultural spectacular. The village supports the former poachers and communities around the park. Villagers are very welcoming and happy to receive new faces. The Intore dancers are beautifully adorned, with spears in their dance, their hands, shoulder and hips in rhythm from one side to another following the rhythm and sound of the drums, beads and bells around feet and necks to welcome you as a groom or a bride.
